Amber gold in color with a nose of honey and sweet caramel. Vanilla-heavy initially, before caramel, rye spice, and orange come through. The finish lingers with allspice and cardamom. Fairly easy-drinking for a 100-proof rye whiskey.

Is Whistle Pig Rye good?
WhistlePig is a rye whiskey that is great on its own if you appreciate rye spice. When drinking it straight, you will find its bouquet opens up nicely with a little water or an ice ball. These will mellow the flavor and cut the proof down just enough to transform it into a savory sipper.
Back in 2007, Raj Peter Bhakta purchased a dairy farm in Vermont and started thinking about business opportunities. After much soul-searching, he decided that the thing he really wanted to do was to open a whiskey distillery, and thus he set about creating one.
Sourced from Alberta, Canada and bottled at Whistle Pig Farm in Vermont, WhistlePig 10 Year was first released in summer of 2010. Made from 100% rye, it is bottled at 100 proof (hence "100-100" on the label).
