18 year old
It is intensely warming; with dried fruit, sherry, toffee and spices leading to a rich honeyed nuttiness and the slightest hint of sea salt.
Is Bunnahabhain a Stiuireadair?
Stiùireadair is a sherried release from Bunnahabhain, intended as a partial replacement for the 12 Year Old. A typically creamy and coastal whisky with notes of caramel, nuts, dried fruit and hints of spice.
Stiùireadair (pronounced ‘stew-rahdur’ and means ‘helmsman’ in Scots Gaelic) is the latest member of the Bunnahabhain crew. With a brackish, coastal tinge, this sherried malt will transport you to Bunnahabhain bay, with a smattering of sea spray and dried fruit lingering on your lips.
To create Stiuireadair, they select first and second fill sherry casks with spirits of varying ages and warehouse locations to construct a dram that truly exposes the coastal nature of the Bunnahabhain single malt whisky.
