Nose: Caramel and vanilla with some dried fruit – dates and apricots. A little leather or tobacco with a hint of sweet spice. Taste: Caramel and apricots with baking spices and oak. Very nice mouth feel and no burn.

Blade and Bow is a very nice drink of Bourbon despite all of the marketing gimmicks Diageo put into this whiskey. They market that they have used a Solera method of aging of the whiskey. For those unfamiliar with this method it is a style of aging very popular with Spanish Brandy producers.

Is Blade and Bow Bourbon rare?
The 22-year Blade and Bow is completely different. It's a rare find and it's very uncommon for bourbon to be this old. It's been blended smooth, and it's rather manageable to sip. It's not over-oaked like many aged bottles and it's a true testament to Diageo's blending ability.
Blade and Bow is produced at the original site of the iconic Stitzel-Weller Distillery in Louisville, Kentucky. The original distillery closed its doors in 1992, and Diageo reopened the facility in 2014
