Redwood Empire - Emerald Giant Rye Whiskey 750ml
The nose hits with the classic notes of rye but a refreshing apple crisp note. Subtle notes of sweet brown sugar also come through on the nose. The front of the palate is coated with a unique rye spice which is quickly replaced with a creamy mouthfeel and a crisp citrus note. On the third sip came notes of delicious rye spice, along with honey and cinnamon. The finish was a crisp apple note that hit the top of the mouth and the edge of the palate. It was on the shorter side but evolved as you sipped.
Named after the fastest growing Redwood in the world, Emerald Giant is a fan favorite in the Rye world. Started with a mash-bill of 95% premium rye and aged it for over 3 years in new charred oak barrels. Spicy with an exceptionally smooth finish, it is a great choice in your classic whiskey cocktails
Is Redwood Empire good bourbon?
An award winning bourbon-rye blend with an exceptional balance of sweetness and spice. The perfect choice for those who just can't decide between rye or bourbon, we call it “the best of both worlds.” Nose: Initially, clove, nutmeg, and cinnamon are followed by an almost orange creamsicle note.
