Old Bardstown 101's flavors start with sweet and herbal honey, vanilla, and citrus followed by slightly musty oak, cinnamon, chocolate, and licorice, but not much heat.
Nose is sweet, herbal, citrus. The palate is herbaceous, sweet fruit, vanilla, on a layer of oak and earthiness that goes on like a champion marathon runner

Who Makes Old Bardstown bourbon?
A Trip Down To Old Bardstown Bourbon Reviews. Bardstown line is a product of Willett Distillery just outside of Bardstown, Ky. As mentioned earlier, we can infer from Willet's labeling tactics that the bourbon inside the Bottled in Bond and the 90 Proof is different from the bourbon in the Estate Bottled.
Who owns Old Bardstown?
Willett Distillery, also known as Kentucky Bourbon Distillers (KBD), Ltd., is a private family-owned and -operated company that produces bourbon and rye whiskey. Over the years the company has bottled whiskeys that range from 2 years of aging maturity up to 28 years.
I guess all there really is to know is that it's a straight bourbon made at the Willett Distillery in Kentucky, so assuming there's no age statement hiding on the back label, it's at least 4 years old. The Old Bardstown Estate Bottled whiskey stems from the Willett family of bourbons. Although this bourbon is lacking an age statement, it is rumored to be 10 years old.
3 oz. Old Bardstown Estate Bottled Bourbon
1 oz. simple syrup from fruit infusion
8 mint leaves
To make the simple syrup from fruit infusion, one day before use, cut your favorite fruit (we used oranges) into slivers, place into a liter sized jar, and fill with vodka. Refrigerate for 24 hours. Strain vodka into a separate pour container, saving the fruit for garnish. Mix simple syrup with the infused vodka in equal parts. As for the cocktail, muddle mint and fruit syrup gently, so as not to mash the mint. Add crushed ice, stir and pour into a Collins glass. Add the Old Bardstown Estate Bottled Bourbon and lightly stir. Garnish with fruit from the infusion mixture.
Old Bardstown Estate earned a score of 95 points from Jim Murray's Whisky Bible, and the Silver Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2012.
